Following the vision, the traditional livelihoods of the S\u00e1mi are viable and profitable. Modern livelihoods such as responsible and ethically sustainable tourism based on S\u00e1mi culture support the profitability of traditional livelihoods and promote employment locally.<\/p>\n

In the vision, there is a S\u00e1mi tourism information centre distributing accurate information on the S\u00e1mi and S\u00e1mi culture to visitors and various interest groups in tourism industry. Furthermore, the centre has information about the responsibly and ethically sustainably operating S\u00e1mi tourism entrepreneurs. Tourism in S\u00e1mi Homeland is uncontrolled and ethically unsustainable. The traditional livelihoods of the S\u00e1mi have been forced to retreat due to tourism. The safeguarding of the cultural practices and traditions of the S\u00e1mi not involved in tourism have failed.
